She is often referred to as"the Junkyard Queen' or The Junkster' Mary is known for her collections of antiques that she gathered from different auctions estate sales and storage facilities. After earning a photojournalism degree she started her professional career with the well-known Architectural Digest magazine under its creator Paige Rense and eventually went into her own segment named Mary Finds'. This section involved videos on the home's renovation and decor; she later returned to Texas to open her firm with the same name, and focus on restoring antiques and furnishing. A&E Television producers spotted her while she ran the antiques shop and gave her a role in Texas' version of Storage Wars. The show ran three seasons. In the fifth season, her popularity led her to being a part of Storage Wars. Storage Wars season 5 was her first time appearing on the show.
