The song is also referred to Mr. Capalot, or Polo Capalot the ace rapper of Chicago Illinois, started gaining recognition after he started releasing songs on YouTube. The first tracks he released were like never Cared or The Come up. After that he debuted on SoundCloud by releasing the mixtape Official POLO.G SoundCloud. Gang With Me was Gang With Me's first single. Soon after, it was later followed by a second track entitled Finer Things. It was composed in prison. It became his most popular single, and millions people viewed it on YouTube. It put him into the spotlight. Then, major record labels were interested in his work. Pop Out with Lil Tjay was the first single to be released under Columbia Records' distribution contract. The rapper's first hit song was a hit on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 22. A huge number of viewers watched the video through YouTube. Polo G was soon a YouTube celebrity and gained a lot of attention on social media such as Instagram and Twitter.
